The ministry to merchant seamen not only seeks to evangelize seamen from around the world who come into the Port of Mobile and Pensacola but also people who work at the Port facilities: security personnel, office personnel, truckers and longshoremen.

We recently were given the privilege of doing a chalk talk at a  Bible club held after classes at an elementary school and souls were saved. Norma spoke last Saturday for a Mother Daughter Tea at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Theoldore, AL. It was her first time to speak to a large group of ladies and children. To God be the glory!

Bro. Don Bettis, now age 88, handles the ministry to seamen at the Port of Pensacola. He recently was given the opportunity to testify of his ministry at a Propeller Club meeting in Pensacola where several businessmen were present. He said he was nervous but I am sure the Lord used him for His glory. Brother Don has been blessed with a semi-retired assistant, Don Crutchfield, who drives him around at times even to the Port of Mobile where they visit ships, usually once a week.
