The Bridges Family has been called by God to plant churches in Oregon, USA. The states in the Pacific Northwest are considered the most un-churched in the nation. The state of Oregon in particular has a large un-churched population. Most of the people don’t go to church, and many have never even been, and don’t care to go. The largest religions are Catholics and Mormons. Independent Baptist are few and far between. Even in the Baptist churches there is much strange doctrine. Just like most places in our country, the churches that are here are very liberal in their doctrine, music and concerning the Bible. Many only meet once or twice a week. When door-knocking it is difficult to share the gospel verbally because many are very quick to close the door. Others are very anti-god, and they let you know it. So this state is truly an area that needs the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I (Keith) was saved when I was eight years old. I met my wife, Rhonda, at Bible Baptist Church of Jackson, GA and we were married there in 1987. We have raised our children there, and it was there where I answered God’s call to our present ministry in Oregon. In March of 2009 we were commissioned by Bible Baptist Church and moved to Oregon to start a church. God immediately gave us a couple that was looking for an independent Baptist church in their area. Soon God brought some others along that also had been praying for a good church in Lebanon. By God’s grace the work has been started, and we are praying that many will come to know Jesus as their Savior. Psalm 118:23 “This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.”
